The Swiss Society for Financial Market Research (SGF) was founded in 1986 by Werner Rein and a group of Swiss economists. The main purpose of the Society is to promote modern finance and to improve the dialogue between academics and practitioners in this field. To achieve this, the society publishes the quarterly journal “Financial Markets and Portfolio Management” (FMPM) and organizes the annual SGF Conference. The current president of the society is Stefan Beiner.
